The Rising Tide – Finding Your Flow

🌊 The Rising Tide – Finding Your Flow

Happy March 19th!

We are standing on the threshold of the Spring Equinox (which arrives tomorrow!). Today is a day of anticipation and internal "spring cleaning." It is National Let’s Laugh Day and Certified Nurses Day. Historically, it is also the day in 1911 when the first International Women’s Day was celebrated in several European countries, a few years before the date was officially moved to March 8th.

Today’s theme is Fluidity. Just as the seasons are shifting from the stillness of winter to the movement of spring, you are being invited to find your "flow"—the place where your effort meets your ease.

1. Certified Nurses Day: The Power of Compassionate Competence (Purpose)

Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system, blending rigorous technical skill with deep emotional intelligence. They remind us that true Purpose isn't just about "what" you do, but "how" you show up for others while maintaining your own boundaries.

🔑 The Action: The Vitals Check

Take your own "emotional vitals" today. On a scale of 1–10, how is your heart? Your energy? Your mental clarity?

Self-Love Tip (Purpose): If your "vitals" are low, prescribe yourself some radical rest. You cannot be of service to your dreams if you are running on empty.

Women’s History Connection: We honor Mary Breckinridge, who founded the Frontier Nursing Service in 1925. She rode on horseback through the Appalachian Mountains to bring care to isolated mothers and children, proving that Purpose can find a way through any terrain.

2. National Let’s Laugh Day: The Great Release (Passion)

Laughter is a "glitch" in the system that reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously. It is a powerful form of Passion because it requires you to be fully present in the moment.

🔑 The Action: The Comedy Break

Watch a video, call a "funny" friend, or look back at a ridiculous photo that always makes you giggle.

Self-Love Tip (Passion): Pay attention to the physical sensation of a real belly laugh. It releases tension in the jaw and shoulders that you’ve probably been carrying all week.

The Result: Laughter doesn't make your problems disappear, but it makes your "armor" lighter. When you can laugh at the absurdity of the "messy middle," you regain your power over it.

3. Pre-Equinox Stillness: Cleaning the Internal Windows (Pleasure)

Tomorrow, the day and night will be equal in length. Today is the "eve" of that balance. It’s the perfect time for the Pleasure of preparation—clearing out the old to make room for the new.

🔑 The Action: The One-Surface Clear

Pick one physical surface in your home—your nightstand, your desk, or your kitchen counter—and clear it completely.

Self-Love Tip (Pleasure): Don't just clean it; "style" it with something you love—a candle, a flower, or a favorite book.

The Goal: External order creates internal "flow." By clearing one small space, you signal to your brain that you are ready for the fresh energy of Spring.

"Adventure is a peripheral vision of the mind." Mary Breckinridge

This March 19th, check your vitals, find a reason to laugh until it hurts, and clear a little space for the season to come. You are the nurse of your own soul and the architect of your own joy.

What is one thing you can "laugh off" today to make your spirit a little lighter for tomorrow’s Equinox?
