The Purple Flame: Leading with Grace Through the Great Unknown
The Purple Flame: Leading with Grace Through the Great Unknown
May 11
If you’ve seen me lately, you’ve seen me in purple. It’s more than just a brand color or a seasonal choice; it is the color of my sovereignty. As we move through National Lupus Awareness Month, I wear this hue as a "Lupus Savior."
But I want to be real with you—because true digital empowerment isn't about filtered perfection; it’s about the raw, sacred truth of our lived experience.
The Weight of the Crown
In my work as an Intimate Coach, I talk a lot about Vitality. I talk about passion, pleasure, and purpose. But some days, the physical reality of Lupus feels like an anchor tethered to my spirit. There are mornings when the pain is so loud it drowns out the affirmations. There are moments when I feel like I simply cannot carry on—when the "Sacred Container" of my body feels fragile and spent.
In those moments, the "hustle" is a lie. The only truth is the breath, the pain, and the presence.
Walking with the Divine
When my own strength reaches its limit, I am reminded that I am not a solo act. I often say that I am the Captain of my ship, but even the best Captain relies on the North Star. For me, that North Star is God.
When I feel like I can’t take another step, I stop trying to walk and I allow myself to be carried. Having God by my side doesn't always take the pain away, but it transforms the nature of the pain. It turns a "burden" into a "refining fire." It reminds me that my purpose isn't dependent on my physical perfection, but on my spiritual resilience.
To My Body, With Love (Even on the Hard Days)
To my sisters and fellow warriors navigating chronic illness: your worth is not measured by your productivity. Being a "Savior" doesn't mean you never fall; it means you know how to find the "Sacred Path" back to yourself even when the trail is obscured by fatigue. Today, I honor my body—not for what it can "do" for me, but for how it holds me.
Today’s Empowerment Practice:
The Color of Strength: If you are fighting a silent battle, wear something purple today. Let it be your "Sovereign Shield."
The Lean: Identify one area where you are trying to "white-knuckle" your way through. Can you surrender that specific worry to a higher power today?
Gentle Vitality: If movement is hard, let your "Vitality" be found in the stillness. A prayer, a deep breath, or a moment of radical self-compassion is just as powerful as a marathon.
A Prayer for the Warriors
May you find the "Purple Flame" within you today. May your pain be met with divine comfort, and may your spirit remain unshakeable, even when the body is weary. You are a masterpiece in progress, held by a love that never falters.
I wear my purple for me. I wear it for you. We are saviors, not because we are painless, but because we are purposeful.
